My work focuses on helping small business owners find customers, build a support network, and grow their business. My passion for helping women-owned and minority-owned businesses thrive permeates all of my offerings. My workshops focus not just on the day to day aspects of running a business, but on how to create lasting connections within your community, to help your business be sustainable within a strong local economy. My philosophy has been honed over twenty years of working in communities, with communities, and for communities. I believe - and see firsthand - that when businesses grow with a focus on building up the local community, great things happen.
My background is in marketing, community outreach and environmental issues. I have worked for non-profits (in community relations, membership, writing, editing, environmental and transportation policy, and program management), and city and state governments (as an urban planner). I run a small handmade jewelry business and organize Tacoma-area handmade markets that highlight women artists and raise money for local non-profits. I have a BA in Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill and an MSc in City Design and Social Science from the London School of Economics.
How can I help your business grow, build and connect?
